Sylvester Nash

Sylvester Nash was born September 3, 1935 to the late Fred and Odell Nash in North Little Rock, Ark. Sylvester confessed his hope in Christ at an early age. He later united his membership with Mount Araratt Missionary Baptist Church upon returning to live in Arkansas in November 1991. He was united in holy matrimony to Mary Love on July 9, 1974. To his beautiful union they had a combination of seven children three boys and four girls to become one family. He departed this life on September 25, 2011 at 6:51 p.m. at UAMS hospital in Little Rock, Ark. Sylvester was a wise and caring man who touched many lives. Sylvester had five siblings: two sisters; Catherine Henderson and Helen Reynolds; three brothers; Alfonso Nash, Al Freddy Nash and James Nash; two sons Keith and Kevin Love who preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife; Mary F. Nash, four girls; Linda Watkins of Fort Worth, Texas. Beryl (Yvonne) Love of Chicago, Ill. and Stephanie Straw of Chicago, Ill., Stacie "O'Dell" Nash of North Little Rock, Ark. one son; William (Eric) Straw, one godson, Woodrow Thomas of North Little Rock, Ark. Sylvester also leaves ten grandchildren; Walter, LaFrances, Keenan, Tramine, Telia, Candace, Crystal, Michael, Jacob and Jalyn, five great-grandchildren; TyShawn, Jakkar, Ohaija, Kendall adn Jamiyah. Also leaves to cherish his memory two great-great-grandchildren, two sister-in-laws Bessie Nash of Chicago, Ill. and Josephine Nash of Jacksonville, Ark. one special niece, Creamolia Levy and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Family hour will be Friday September 30, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 1, 2011, 11 a.m. at Mount Araratt Missionary Baptist Church, 5417 Valentine Road, North Little Rock, Ark. Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home, 1518 S. Battery Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72202. "Only Heaven Can Serve You Better."
