Michael Odis Simpson, 52, of Cabot died Monday, April 2, 2012. He was born July 14, 1959 in Wimpole, England to Merodith and Betty Jean Matthews Simpson. Mr. Simpson served the city of Jacksonville in the water department for 35 years and was the General Manager. He was Past President of the Jacksonville Rotary Club, Past President of Central Arkansas Water District, served on the AWWA Board and was currently on the board of Lonoke-White Water. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycling and spending Saturday mornings with his father. He was preceded in death by his dog, Honey. Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife, Katrina Clark Simpson; five children, Michael Simpson (Janette) of Lonoke, Melissa House (Dave) of Austin, July Simpson, BriarRose Simpson and Maggie Simpson, all of Cabot and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his parents, Merodith and Betty Jean Simpson of Jacksonville; three brothers, Jerry Simpson of Jacksonville, Mark Simpson of Sherwood and Danny Simpson of Phoenix as well as his nieces and his family at the Jacksonville Water Department. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Friday, April 6 in the funeral home chapel.
