Roberta Marhoover Deacon

Roberta Marhoover Deacon, 91, of Maple Grove Rd., Chillicothe, Ohio died Sunday April 1, 2012 at home after an extended illness. She was born on March 30, 1921 in Pike County, Ohio a daughter of the late George Raymond and Olive Lightle Marhoover. She was united in marriage June 18, 1940 to William Thomas Deacon who preceded her in death. Surviving are daughters: Nancy (Berk) Curlee of Paradise, Texas, Sharen (Jimmie) Crockett of Rose Bud, Ark., Susan (Larry) Mitchell of Glendale, Ariz., Jane (Larry) Archer of Frankfort, Ohio, Jill (Steve) Hopkins of Waverly, Ohio, and Lori Deacon of Columbus, Ohio. Also survived by grandchildren: Karyn Peterson, Elizabeth (Steve) Rose, Julie (Rob) Reedy, Jeremy Mitchell, Kristen (Heath) Mote, Adam (Stephanie) Hopkins, Erin Archer, Nathaniel (Tina) Hopkins, Brandon Mitchell, Andrea Archer, Alex Hopkins, and Charis Deacon, great-grandchildren: Emily Peterson, Robby and Brayden Reedy, Avery and Allison Mote, and Cade Hopkins; sisters: Shirley (Jacob) Balzer of Bournville, Ohio and Viola Dixon of Columbus, Ohio, and sisters-in-law: Gladys Marhoover of Beaver, Ohio, and Gladys Marhoover of Waverly. Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by great-grandchildren, Tanner and Brooklyn Rose, and brothers, Rodney and Paul Marhoover. Mrs. Deacon was a member of the Sunrush Church of Christ and a was a loving full-time mother, wife and homemaker. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday at the Sunrush Church of Christ, 1597 Western Ave., Chillicothe, Ohio with Minister David Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Latham Cemetery near Buchanan. Friends may call 5-8 p.m., Thursday at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly and Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the Church.
