LeRoy (Bud) DeVan Lintz, 82, of Summerfield, North Carolina, formerly of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, April 8, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Community Lutheran Church in Summerfield, N.C. Interment will follow. Bud was born on September 14, 1929 in Zelienople, Pennsylvania to Willis Wesley Lintz and Clara Murray Lintz. He graduated from Zelienople High School in 1948. He began his 49 year career in the copper tubing manufacturing industry in 1950 with Halstead Metal Products in Zelienople, Pennsylvania. He was then drafted to the United States Army and served from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War in the Infantry Division in Augsburg, Germany. Upon his return from the War he resumed his employment with Halstead as a foreman in the plant. In 1963 he transferred to Wynne, Arkansas as Plant Manager and while there was promoted to General Manager of the Metal Products Division. In 1979 Bud transferred to Greensboro, North Carolina and was promoted to Vice President of Halstead Industries, Inc. Bud continued to work there until his retirement when the company was sold in 1998. At the time of his retirement he was Sr. Vice-President and a member of the Board of Directors of Halstead Industries, Inc. Bud was also a member of the Board of Directors of "The Copper Club" in New York City, which promotes the interests of the copper industry. Bud enjoyed life to the fullest. He traveled the world extensively and returned many times to his favorite locations in Germany and France with his wife, Libby. He enjoyed vacationing every summer on Emerald Isle, North Carolina with his children and their families. In his younger days he was an avid gardener, fisherman, hunter, and occasional pilot. His family and friends will remember his ever-present smile, how he wanted everyone to smile with him, his humor, his kindness, his golden heart. Bud was a man generous beyond words and was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his family and a friend to many. He was predeceased by his parents, Willis Wesley Lintz and Clara Murray Lintz of Zelienople, Pennsylvania; brother Robert Lintz of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania and James Thomas Lintz of Fombell, Pennsylvania, and sister Elizabeth (Betty) Lintz Fulcomer of Zelienople, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth (Libby) Lintz of Summerfield, N.C.; son Wesley Lintz and Joanna Lintz and their sons Johnathen, Jared, and Justin Lintz of Kernersville, N.C.; daughter Lorraine Pope and husband William (Bill) Pope and their children, William (Will) Pope of Bryant, Arkansas; and Elizabeth Page Hill and husband Nick Hill, and their daughter Presley Hill of Des Arc, Arkansas; son, Warren Lintz and wife Roseann Lintz of Stokesdale, N.C. and his son, James DeVan Lintz (J.D.) Lintz of Kernersville, N.C.; Eric Lintz and wife Theresa Lintz and their children Andrew and Anna Lintz of Greensboro, N.C. He is also survived by his brother, Lawrence Lintz and wife Elizabeth (Suzie) Lintz of Calabash, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
