Robert Ray Davis

Robert Ray Davis Sr., age 80, resident of Benton, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012. He was born May 22, 1931 in Bauxite to the late Claude Davis and the late Bertha Viola Gould Davis Rapier. Mr. Davis served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He later retired as mining supervisor at Alcoa. Survivors include: wife, Mary Beth Mize Hentshel Davis of Benton; three sons, Robert Ray "Robby" Davis Jr. of Benton, Carl C. Bolt of Hot Springs, and Frank Hentschel of Benton; three daughters, Lisa Davis Harvey and husband Stansel of Greenville, Miss., Cecilia Hentschel Tittle and husband Gary of Haskell. And Laura Hentschel Rogers and husband Charles of Mabelvale; brother, Rex Davis and wife Bernice of Benton; brother-in-law, Bob Walker of Enola; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog and friend, Jeff. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marilyn Gail Shelton and Claudia Gould Walker, and a niece, Dana Shelton. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Roller-Ballard Funeral Home Chapel (315-4047), with Brother Carl Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Bauxite Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home, Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bauxite Historical Association and Museum, 6707 Benton Road, Bauxite, Ark. 72011 and/or the New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 3223 Peeler Bend Road, Benton, Ark. 72019.
