Edwin "Ed" R. Pomeroy

Edwin Roberts Pomeroy, 80, of Monticello died on Saturday, April 7th at his home. Born March 20, 1932, he was a lifelong resident of Monticello and was the son of the late Leslie Klett (L.K.) Pomeroy and Fay Roberts Pomeroy. He was a devoted husband to Barbara Logan Pomeroy for over 50 years as well as a loving father and grandfather. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having been honorably discharged as a Lt. JG. He was a past President of Ozark Badger Lumber Company, The Wilmar Company, and owner of Pomeroy Forest Management. He spent many years as a member of the Rotary Club and SEARK concert association, and he was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include one daughter, Leslie Pomeroy New, and husband, Michael New, of Clarksville, TN and one son, Michael Logan Pomeroy, and wife Stacy Landfair Pomeroy, also of Clarksville, Tenn., two sisters, Barbara P. Scidmore of Madison, Wis. and Shirley P. Herndon of Little Rock, Ark., one brother, Leslie Klett Pomeroy Jr. of Suffolk, Va., and five grandchildren, Anna New Pyron of Spring Hill, Tenn., James Allen New of Memphis, Tenn., Molly Rosamond New of Knoxville, Tenn., Logan Landfair Pomeroy and Amy Michelle Pomeroy both of Clarksville, Tenn. A memorial service celebrating the lives of both Ed and his late wife Barbara will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Monticello, preceded by a dinner at noon and visitation at 1 p.m. with Reverend Tom Abney officiating.
