Lessie Ashley

Lessie Ashley, 82, of East End Arkansas, was born December 11, 1929 to parents William Arthur Ashley and Ella Virginia (Duncan) Ashley, passed away on Wednesday, August 1st, 2012. She was a devout Christian of the Baptist Faith, a devoted Mother who loved her family. She was a lover of Gospel music, enjoyed playing games on her Kindle and keeping up with family and friends on Facebook as well as sewing and quilting when her health allowed. She retired from a long and devoted career in nursing at the age of 73 and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children; Juanita Ryan and her husband Larry of Cabot, Arkansas, Betty Montgomery and her husband Ray of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Donna Claybrook and her husband Max of Sherwood, Arkansas, Eugene Chambers and his wife Kathy of Guthrie, Oklahoma and Penny Roath and her husband Keno of Hattieville, Arkansas; six granddaughters, nine grandsons, six great-granddaughters, four great-grandsons as well as a brother, Pete Ashley and his wife Ann of Bismark, Arkansas and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Dr. Earl Ashley, her son, Michael Jones and grandchildren; Kevin Watkins, Monica Pelkey, Austin Govia and Christian Andrew (Andy) Turley. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 4th, 2012 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock with visitation on Friday, August 3rd, 2012 from 6-8 p.m., at the Funeral Home. www.griffinleggettresthills.com.
