Emily F. (Shaw) Boston

Emily F. (Shaw) Boston died Aug. 2, 2012, in Valdosta, Ga. She was born March 27, 1928, in Louisville, Miss. She was a member of the Westside First Baptist Church in Greers Ferry. Emily traveled the world as a U.S. Air Force wife and resettled in Arkansas in 1970. She was employed by the Arkansas State Highway Department until retirement in 1990. Emily enjoyed her retirement, visiting her children and grandchildren and was always ready for an ocean cruise. Emily was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Thomas N. Boston. She is survived by children, Jo Anne and husband Jerry Darby, Thomas W. and wife Nina Boston, James R. and wife Jane Boston, Mary K. Boston, and Winston J. and wife Karen Boston; grandchildren, Alysia and husband Damon Lindsay, Jennifer Elmendorf, Nina M. Boston, Clinton T. Boston, Winston J. Boston; and great-grandchildren, Aidan and Kathryn Lindsay; sister, Russell Burke and nephew Paul Burke; and a host of dear friends. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Heber Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home. www.olmstead.cc.
