Malvern Joe Peyton

MALVERN JOE PEYTON, 71, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully Tuesday. He attended the Little Rock public schools until Govenor Orval Faubus closed them during 1958-59 school year, because of the integration crisis. He moved to Boston, Mass. and graduated high school in the spring of 1959. After high school he was accepted into the University of Oklahoma at Norman and enrolled into the Air Force ROTC program. In 1965 he graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration and later attended Southern Illinois University where he received an MBA in 1974. After graduating college he was inducted into the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Major before retiring. In his civilian life he worked for the Department of Defense as a Budget Analyst in Washington, DC and later in Dayton, Ohio. Joe is survived by nieces, Dr. Johnett Labrie Phillips (Keith) of Kansas City, Mo. and Jill Floyd of Little Rock; brother in law, James Floyd Little Rock; God-daughter, Dr. Michelle Robertson Bullard (Robert) of Houston, Texas and a host of relatives and friends. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday Aug. 7 at St. Andrew AME Church, 3003 Bishop St. Little Rock. Vistation will begin 1 p.m. Monday with family hour 6-7 p.m. at Dubisson Funeal Home, 374-5025.
