MAURINE GARTON, age 92, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away peacefully on Aug. 2, 2012, at Little Rock. She was born on Nov. 29, 1919, in Dalark, Ark., to her parents, Mort and Agnes Lee. Maurine was the youngest of six. She married Wade Garton in Little Rock on May 7, 1944. They had one child, Becky Bowman. She attended Little Rock High School and graduated in 1937. She was a longtime resident of Little Rock for 87 years. She was a member of Lifeway Baptist Church, formerly Gaines Street and Olivet Baptist. She and her husband were charter members of the church where they both served faithfully until health issues prevented them from participating. She enjoyed cooking, trips to Branson, family vacations, and holidays with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Becky). She is also survived by granddaughters, Lane Scott and husband, Keith, Sarah Deahl; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Wade Scott and Hayleigh and Ethan Deahl. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wade, and brothers, James Lee, Edward Lee, Curtis Lee, Raymond Lee and Conway Lee. The family would like to thank her dear friend, Gilda Lloyd, for the loving care she provided. They also want to acknowledge the kind support provided by Dr. Morgan Sauer and the amazing staff of Hospice Home Care. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation for Maurine on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, and funeral services on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth.
