Hazel Page Oliver, 94, passed away August 13, 2012 at the Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant. She was born July 26, 1918 to M.L. and Timia Page in Hazen and remained there for almost her entire life until she moved in 2010 to Bryant to be close to her daughter. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Fred M. Oliver, of 64 years and one sister, Leola Page McDonald. She, along with her late husband, owned and operated Page's Super Market and the Trellis Corner Florist. She was a charter member of the Twentieth Century Club and a lifetime member of the Hazen First United Methodist Church. Hazel is survived by her son, Edward Page Oliver and wife, Amy of Clear Lake Shores, Texas and her daughter, Linda Best and her husband, Charles of Benton; six grandchildren, Page Coffee and her husband, Tim of Austin, Texas, David Oliver and his wife, Leigh Ann of Dallas, Texas, Leah Oliver of Clear Lake Shores, Texas, Charles Brent Best and his wife, Kellie of Frisco, Texas, Dana Lynch and her husband, Jeff of Heber Springs, Darla Self and her husband, Todd of Bryant. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and one niece, Sue Noble of Maybank, Texas and one nephew, Mark Noble of Gun Barrel City, Texas. Hazel above all loved her family, her church, and her many friends she had known all of her life in the community she loved. She will be missed but always remembered for her gracious act of giving of herself. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 15, from 10 to 12 noon at the First United Methodist Church in Hazen with services to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the Hazen Cemetery. The family has asked for memorials to be made to the Hazen First United Methodist Church or the Saline Memorial Hospice for which so much loving care was given during her final days.
