Robert M. Scott

Robert M. Scott, age 86, of Benton passed away Monday, August 13, 2012. He was born March 14, 1926 in Saline County,(Salem Community). Robert was a Farmer and Real Estate Broker, member of the Saline County Realtors Association and his family was twice named Saline County Farm Family of the Year. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Benton where he was long time choir member and a long time teacher and leader in the Men's Bible Class. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton W. and Ida Belle Bard Scott, sister, Mary Elizabeth Chastain. Survivors, loving wife for 64 years, Mary Lou Medlock Scott, Benton; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert M. (Bob) Scott and wife Waynette Gambill Scott, Jeffersonville. Indiana; James (Sam) Scott, Benton; Timothy Wayne (Tim) Scott and his wife Kathy Roper Scott, Bentonville; brother, Melton Bard Scott and wife Margaret Elmo Scott, Benton; brother-in-law, Randall Chastain, Benton; grandchildren, Brittany Marie Wilson. Whitney Robert Scott, Nickolas Wayne Scott, Kristin Mayer and Jarrod Chandler, three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Benton with burial at Scott Cemetery on Congo Road in Benton.
