Charles Arthur Tallent

Charles Arthur "Chuck" Tallent, of Benton, Saline County Deputy Sheriff (ret.) passed away at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant, Arkansas August 20, 2012. Tallent was born January 20, 1947 in Hollis, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father; Chester Arthur Tallent and a sister Ada Louise Bata. He is survived by his mother, Ava Lee Davis Rogers; brother Clint Tallent; sister, Erma Matuszyk; sons, Dave Tallent and Dakota Tallent; daughter, Patricia Tallent; grandchildren:,Lainey and Cayden Symonds, Madalaine, Gabriel, and Josephine Wells, and Sidney Tallent. Tallent served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees (Can Do, We Build-We Fight). He also served as a Saline County Deputy Sheriff, at the rank of Sergeant and worked in law enforcement for 27 years. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047). Memorial services with full police honors will be 10 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Saline County Sheriff's Office, 735 S. Neeley Street Benton, Arkansas with Chaplain Tamara Gore officiating.
