Eddye Kay Hansen

Eddye Kay Hansen, 59, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. Eddye Kay was born October 14, 1952, in Millington, Tennessee, to Capt. Edward Kelly and Sally Louise Stone Kelly who preceded her in death. A graduate of Stuttgart High School, she was former activities director at Crestpark Retirement Center where she was instrumental in establishing what began as a fireworks display for the residents and has become Stuttgart's annual Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza. She was most recently director of Literacy Council of Arkansas County until her health no longer allowed her to work. She was a member of Stuttgart Lion's Club, Adult Education Board and First Baptist Church. Survivors are her husband, Floyd Ray "Hootie" Hansen Jr.; two daughters, Shannon Montgomery and husband Mark of Humphrey and Terri Cooper and husband Justin of Stuttgart; her grandchildren, Karissa Winfrey, Kenneth Ray Cooper, Dylan Cooper and Kole Winfrey; and two sisters, Nancy Kelly Sikes of Stuttgart and Sally Ann Kelly of Tunica. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Thursday at Hunter's Chapel United Methodist Church with visitation one hour before her service.
