Julia Mary Gardner

Mrs. Julia Gardner of Wynne went to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 19th. She was the widow of J.R."Teenie" Gardner who predeceased her by 29 years. The funeral service was held at Wynne Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 21st, Rev. Bob Wilson officiating. Internment was in Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne. Julia consistently invested her life in others and taught in the Wynne Public School system for many years. Culminating as the high school art teacher, her teaching career included elementary, junior high, and high school. She served on the State Library Board, the Arkansas Public Building Authority, the Committee 100, the Cross County Arts Council, and for 32 years on the Cross County Library Board. She was the 2000 Wynne Volunteer of the Year and in 2006 was recognized as the Arkansas Governor's "Lifetime Arts Patron." She served Wynne Baptist Church as a choir member and Sunday school teacher and will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by two children, Sidney Marks Dailey and husband Ken, of Austin, Texas and by Randy Gardner, wife Allison, of Atlanta, Ga.
