Marsa Dean Lane

Marsa Dean Lane went home to be with her Lord on August 20, 2012, at the age of 77. She died peacefully surrounded by her precious family. Marsa was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Born on September 21, 1934. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Leland Lane; her two children Mark (Pamela) Lane of McKinney, Texas. Chris (Mindy) Lane of Little Rock, Ark.; four grandchildren; Corey and Joshua of Plano, Texas as well as Harrison and Parker Lane of Little Rock, Ark. and two step grandchildren, Ashley Veatch and Nate Veatch of McKinney, Texas; brother, Doyle (Sylvia) Champion of Carmel, Ind. and sister Bobbie Ross of Denver, Colo. She was preceded in death by her father Troy Champion and mother Mae Champion and one sister, Wanda Whitner and one brother, Troy Champion. Marsa was an avid bridge player who thoroughly enjoyed playing with her friends. She also loved and was devoted to serving her church. One of her proudest life experiences was being a grandmother to four boys. She not only dedicated all of her time but also was a loyal shopper for all of the children's clothes. She spent several beautiful fall Sunday afternoons watching two of her grandsons play pee wee football at the Fellowship Bible Life Champs field. She was their biggest cheerleader. The family would like to make acknowledgement of the kindness and respect demonstrated by Dr. Tena Murphy during the last years of Marsa's life. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. A private burial service for family members will be held on Thursday morning, August 23, 2012 followed by a public celebration of her life with a memorial service at 1 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 62 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock.
