Wayne (Bud) Hanks, 67, of Carlisle, Arkansas went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 25, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Margaret Hanks of Carlisle and son, Jeff Hanks of Little Rock, the light of his life, his sister, Betty Long of Hazen and many nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his father and mother, Garland and Clarice Hanks of Hazen; two brothers, Finis Hanks of Carlisle and Billy Hanks of Memphis, and one sister, Charlene Duch of Hazen. Wayne (Bud) was a member of the Landmark Baptist Church of Carlisle and VFW Post 10442 in North Little Rock. He entered military service in 1966 and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany where he was under command of U.S. Army Europe as a Surgical Technician. He served many years as a Volunteer Emergency Technician for the city of Carlisle. He always loved helping others in need. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at U.A.M.S.
