Thelma Corbin Sullivant

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Thelma Corbin Sullivant fought her last battle on August 28, 2012. The chains are gone and Thelma has been set free with her loving family at her bedside; she was 72 years old. She was born to the late Arley Corbin and Lucille Payne Corbin on November 10, 1939 on Huckleberry Mountain. She later moved with her family to Danville where she attended school, met and married Billy Sullivant. Their surviving children include Kelly Jo Sullivant Owens (Tom), Phyllis Ann Sullivant Sage, Jimmy Sullivant and two grandsons, Alexander Moomey and Daniel Moomey, one granddaughter, Becky Jo Sage and Nick Singleton, and two great-granddaughters, Emma Grace Singleton and Molly Wallace, all of the Little Rock area. Lastly, Thelma lost a part of her own heart upon the death of her oldest son, Billy Gene Sullivant, who died in July 2011. Thelma had a long and proud career working at UAMS where upon her retirement she was the Patient/Billing Services Specialist where she made many friends and was a respected employee. Thelma was preceded in death by brothers, John Corbin of Charleston and A.L. Corbin and sister-in-law, Maxine Foster Corbin of Fort Smith. In addition to her children, Thelma is survived by her husband of 54 years, Billy Sullivant, her brothers Don Corbin (Joyce) of Dardanelle, Jim Corbin of Russellville, Bob Corbin (Claudia) of Danville and sisters Billie Corbin White and Jo Corbin Spears of Grenada, Mississippi, and Mary Ann Corbin Moudy (Phil) of Danville. She also leaves to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Friday, August 31, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m., at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, (501) 224-8300.
