Fred Morgan "Tony" Hogue

Fred Morgan "Tony" Hogue, 93, of Benton, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012. He was born December 4, 1918 in Bauxite to the late Jim and Lillie Hogue. Tony was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Benton, an avid golfer and was especially fond of Silver Springs Golf Club and Men's Golf Association. He was a proud WWII veteran, serving in the South Pacific for four years as a Seabee. Upon his return to Saline County, he went to work for Alcoa, retiring after 30 years of service in the Engineering Department. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Maybelle Lauder, Doris Blakely, Nanny Russell and brother, Leonard Hogue and a host of his Silver Spring's buddies. Tony was married to Anneice (Spann) Hogue for 65 years. They were inseperable, love truly was their theme. He was survived by his wife, Anneice Hogue and brother-in-law, Hubert Spann, many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Sam Sample, Jason Finley, Jay Kelley, Preston Cooper, Derek McGrew and Tim Harris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Drew Finley and Jim Hester. Church Services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 11 a.m., Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Benton with burial to follow at Lee Cemetery. Visitation will be at Ashbys, Wednesday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bauxite Historical Association Museum, P.O. Box 245, Bauxite, Arkansas 72011 or Cross Bar C. Cowboy Church Building Fund, 427 River Road, Benton, Arkansas 72015 Family Comments: Tony was a quite man but his Christian testimony was clearly one of his greatest attributes.
