Jimmie Neil (Seery) Sexton

Jimmie Neil (Seery) Sexton, 79, of Little Rock, died on February 12, 2012 at Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on August 28, 1932 at Batesville, Arkansas, the only child of James and May Neil (Craig) Seery. Jimmie was eight years old when her dad died. Her mother, a great loving and giving person, raised and past her ways to Jimmie Neil. Jimmie's husband, Buddy Sexton, who died on June 1, 2000, was as his name indicated a "buddy" to everyone. After Buddy died, Jimmie seemed to slowly lose her will to live. Jimmie and Buddy were both 1950 graduates of Batesville High School, then both graduated from Arkansas College, now Lyon College. Buddy played both football and basketball at Arkansas College, served in the U.S. Army, obtained a Master's degree from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. He worked and managed five J.C. Penny stores and all the time utilizing Jimmie at each store at various needed situations. Buddy received high marks from J.C. Penny at all of his locations. Forever a faithful member at Central Avenue United Methodist Church in Batesville, Arkansas. Jimmie Neil will be buried at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville, next to Buddy. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2012, in Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville, Arkansas, with Pastor Paul Seay officiating.
