Vernon A. Williams went to be with the Lord February 28, 2012. He was born November 7, 1920 in Gurdon, Arkansas. He worked as a Railroad conductor (MP/UP) for 45 years, was an active member of the Sylvan Hills Community Church, was a 32nd degree Mason, and an Army veteran of World War II. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Elyett Williams and Eula Newton Williams and his wife, Edith Arlene Jones. He is survived by one son, Wayne James and wife Doris, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Edgewood Memorial Park.
