Guy Eugene Duke
Guy Eugene Duke, 87, of Ward, Arkansas, died Thursday, January 19, 2012. He was retired as a salesman, a farmer and a WWII Navy hero. He was a member of the Sylvania Presbyterian Church.
Guy is survived by his wife, Mora Lou; one son, Jerry Duke of Ward; four daughters, Retha Roberts of Cabot, Linda Dannermueller of Cabot, Carolyn Pepper of Cabot, and Nelda Fowler of Russellville; two stepdaughters, Shelba Dixon of Austin and Tina Paintin of Cabot; two stepsons, Jamie Spence and Don Spence, both of Beebe; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Clyde of Austin, Bob and Rex of Cabot. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vada Smith Duke; his parents, Howard and Jennie Duke; a granddaughter, Debbie Roberts; a great-grandchild, Michael Alex Odom; stepson Ronnie Spence; brothers Floyd and Fred; and sisters, Elizabeth Plummer and Murl McCorkle.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 11 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012, Sylvania Presbyterian Church, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. www.westbrookfuneralhome.com.
