Ruth N Compton

Ruth N. "Mama C" Compton, 91, of England, Arkansas went to be with the Lord July 26th, 2012. She was born in Tomberlin, Arkansas on September 3rd, 1920 to Dowell V. Hallum and Annie Lyons Hallum. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of forty-six years: Reuben Compton; and six brothers. She's survived by two sons: Don Compton and his wife Judy of England, Arkansas and Neil Compton and his wife Debbie of Coy, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Cristi Roulston and her husband R. D.; Adam Compton and his wife Jena all of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Amy Moss and her husband Logan of Little Rock, Arkansas; Alesha Harry and her husband Ross and Kara Taylor and her husband Brian all of Austin, Arkansas; Jeb Compton and his wife Austin of England, Arkansas; also nine great-grandchildren. Ruth graduated from England High School in 1938. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in England. She was the President and Life Member of Tomberlin, England and Lonoke PTA. UMW-Life Member, 1992 England Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year; a Charter Member of the Watch Me Shine at England Elementary School; Charter Member of the England AARP and the President in 1992; Order of the Eastern Star-Worthy Matron and the President of Women's Golf Association at England Country Cllub. A private family burial will be at Mulberry Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the First United Methodist Church July 29th, 2012 at 2:30 p.m,. Rev. LaNita Daniel will be officiating.
