Tyler Loyd Halsey

Tyler Loyd Halsey of Springdale, Arkansas came into this life a little too quickly on April 14th, 1982 in Toledo, Ohio and departed too soon on June 9th, 2012. Tyler died doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle. Tyler was a free spirited individual who loved life and loved people. He was a truly optimistic and generous man, almost to a fault. Tyler moved to Arkansas when he was 5 and graduated from Jacksonville High School in 2000. He went on to attend the University of Arkansas where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Cum Laude in 2006 and his Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 2008. Tyler worked at Tatum-Smith Engineers, Inc. since 2007 and earned his Professional Engineering license from the state of Arkansas in October 2010. Tyler married Martyna Moran in 2004 and together they moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas to continue their education. He enjoyed the Northwest Arkansas area and decided to keep this area as their home after he graduated from college. He loved travel and adventure and together Tyler and his wife had many exciting adventures together including a three week backpacking trip to Europe and spending the night at the ice hotel in Canada. Every summer Tyler also took a weeklong boys only motorcycle trip. His love of motorcycles led him to become a member of the Iron Butt Association by riding one thousand miles in 24 hours. Tyler is survived by his wife, Martyna Halsey of Springdale; his father, Michael Halsey of Little Rock; his mother, Janice Hull and her husband George Hull of Sherwood; his sister, Andrea Hill and her husband Richard Hill of Jacksonville; his brother, Mason Halsey of Little Rock; his grandfather, James Mason of Ohio, his grandmother Lorraine Mason of North Carolina, his niece Sarah Hill and nephew Matthew Hill of Jacksonville, The Aunts Kathy Brentlinger of Ohio, and Kris Halsey and Bev Havens of Michigan, his aunt Diana Caldwell and her husband Trey Caldwell of North Carolina, his father-in-law Dan Moran and his wife Linda Moran of Jacksonville, his brother-in-law Daniel Moran and his wife Diana Moran of Springdale, his stepsister Randa Howlett and her husband Chris of Sherwood. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bud and Betty Lou Halsey of Ohio. Tyler will be terribly missed. He was our hero. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David C. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
