Jeannie Arthurs Sangster Smith, Jeannie to her many friends, 63, of Conway passed away Friday. She was born to the late Jean Arthurs Sangster Sherrod and Jack Sangster March 31, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Jeannie graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1968 and attended Henderson State College. She was married to Haskell (Hal) Smith of Conway, Arkansas. Jeannie is survived by two children: Haskell Barrett Smith of Conway; Summer Skye Smith of North Little Rock; one grandchild Mia Skye Edwards of North Little Rock: sisters Jerry Lynn Sangster Parlin of Sarasota, Florida; Jacqueline Sangster Kinney of Fayetteville, Arkansas; a brother, John William Sangster of Little Rock, Arkansas. Jeannie was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Jeannie was strong in her faith and in the saving blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a free spirit, funny and kind with a generous, giving heart. Jeannie loved her children passionately. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, and will be missed. A celebration of Jeannie's life will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Harlan Park Baptist Church, with Bro. Robert McDaniel and Dr. Martin Jameson officiating. Burial will Wednesday afternoon at Cotton Plant Cemetery, Cotton Plant, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Griffin Leggett Conway Funeral Home, 1751 Dave Ward Drive. 501-327-5000.
