Thelma Irene Hurst Koen

Our mother and Nana, Thelma Irene Hurst Koen, age 88, of Little Rock, Arkansas went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 16, 2012. She was born November 16, 1923 to the late Cosro Keeley and Vallie Tubbs Keeley. She was an administrative assistant with the Masonic Grand Lodge Temple and member of the Eastern Star. She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Alice Beard Sunday school class. She was a loving and kind mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home was always open to family and friends, and she will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Velma Keeley Guinn; a brother, Ira Neal Keeley, her husband, Lester Hurst, and her four-legged best friend, Joey. She is survived by three daughters, Judy Marie Puddephatt, Mary Kathryn Duckworth and Pat Hurst Poindexter all of Little Rock; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren including Mary Kathryn Nelson; nieces Carolyn and Carl Bores, Karen and Jim Knoedl; and nephew Wayne Keeley. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park, with Brother Ed Simpson officiating.
