Nancy Scogins Smith

Nancy Scogins Smith, age 62, of Monticello, died Monday, June 18, 2012. She was born February 1, 1950, at Warren, the daughter of Daphney Scogins and Mary Free Scogins. On October 6, 1980, she was married to Thomas Gerald Smith who preceded her in death on November 24, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Ray Scogins. She was Salutatorian of her graduating class at the Arkansas School of the Deaf; a member of the school's Rainbow Club; and attended Christ Church in Monticello. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, which she loved so very much. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Susan Youngblood of Stuttgart; her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and John Yates of Conway; six grandchildren, Christina Youngblood, Bobby Moody, Kurt Moody, Savannah Youngblood, Jordan Youngblood and Taylor Youngblood; two great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Raper and Isaiah Raper; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sandy Scogins of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Herman Kitchell of Warren, Ann and Terry Williams and Judy and Wesley James, all of Monticello; several nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends. Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, in the Mount Tabor Community Church with Pastor Robin Hood officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 12 noon until 2 p.m., at the church. Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearer will be Bryan Davis, Bobby Davis, William O'Connor, Doug Atwood, Cory Mitchell, Mike Scogins, Aaron Anderson and Kenny Stevens. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
