Phillip Dale Miller, age 63, of Little Rock, born May 15th, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, made his transition from this earthly home on June 15th, 2012, surrounded by family and friends. Phil was preceded in death by his father, Jay William Miller, Stepson, Marcus Bob Guthrie and great nephews Drake and Corwyn Jones. He is survived by his wife, Trish, the love of his life for 21 years, stepson, Bruce Guthrie and wife Lesley; grandchildren: Mason, Madison and Matthew; beloved mother, Ruth Francis Miller; brother, William Jay Miller and wife Dana; niece, Katie Jones; great niece Winter Jones; father-in-law "Daddy Bully" Stephenson; god-daughter Ashly Eaton and a host of in-laws, nephews, nieces, music family and friends. Music had always been a part of Phil's life and soul and he was widely known and admired throughout the country and state as a gifted lead guitarist for Decca Recording artist "The Merging Traffic" in the sixties and appeared with such acts as The James Brown Show, Otis Redding Show and the Dick Clark Caravan of Stars. Throughout his music career he was lead guitarist for "The Common Good," "Fusion," "The Jim Aldridge Band," "Crossroads Band," "YT&T," "The Bona Fide Band," "Aces and Eights" and at the end, "Chuey and The Dudes." A memorial celebration of Phil's life and musical journey will be held on Sunday, June 24th, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock, Ark. with Paul Truett officiating. A loving fellowship of family and friends will follow at the Celebration Church, located at 816 E. Kiehl Ave., Sherwood, Ark. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arkansas Hospice, #14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 or to the "For The Love Of Phil" trust fund at any Delta Trust and Bank branch.
