Martin Johns

MARTIN ANDREW JOHNS, 85, of Little Rock, passed away June 21, 2012. He was born Aug. 10, 1926 in Warren, Ark. to the late Virgil and Lucille Johns. Martin was a veteran of Korean War and WWII, serving in the Marines, Army and later, Air Force Reserves. He was of Missionary Baptist faith, a Shriner and a 50 year Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Franklin Johns; grandson, Troy Trantham; one brother and one sister. Survivors: wife, Amanda Johns, Little Rock; sons, Robert Bruce Johns, Colorado Springs, Colo., Aaron Trantham of Vilonia, Ark.; daughter, Sharon Mangum, Benton; sister, Martha Temple, Warren; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at Ashby's.
