Betty S. Saunders

Betty S. Saunders, 78, of Bryant, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 1, 2012. She was born on February 3, 1934 in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Charles Vernon and Mary Louise Mathis Heard. She was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church where for years she was the pianist and organist and also taught music in the church. She was a member of the Military Wives Organization. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, John P. Saunders of Bryant; one son, Ralph E. and wife Kathryn Saunders of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; one daughter, Rhonda and husband Rick Sanders of Bryant; two grandchildren, Samantha and Seth Sanders of Bryant; and one sister, Norma Heard of Bryant; and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, (501) 224-8300. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Antioch Baptist Church, 5300 Stagecoach Road, Little Rock, with Dr. Carroll Koon, Reverend Bob Slagley and Reverend Wayne Elkins officiating.
