Robert James "Bob" Grable, 88, of Alexander, Arkansas, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012. Bob was born November 4, 1923 in Quitman, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue (McMahon) Grable, his parents, William Orbra Grable and Arvada Amanda (Hendrickson) Grable of Bryant and one brother, Billy Grable of Fort Worth. He is survived by two sons, Randy and Donna Grable of Alexander and Ron and Bebs Grable of Benton, three granddaughters, Kelley and Billy Williams of Malvern, Amber and Shawn Jackson of Alexander and Veronica and Brandon Grable of Maumelle, four great-grandchildren, Kaitlynne and Kyleigh Williams of Malvern and Isabella and Drake Jackson of Alexander, one brother, Faber Grable of Alexander and three sisters, Wadene Sweeney of Fort Worth, Anna Lee Helmich of Houston and Janette Zuber of Alexander. During World War II, Bob briefly worked for Bruce Lumber Company in Little Rock before joining Mobil Oil Company. He retired from Mobil to start Grable Oil Company in Little Rock. He was a long time member and deacon of Temple Baptist Church in Little Rock. PaPa had a tremendous love for his Lord, family and church. When his great-grandkids arrived everything else stopped. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his life. During his short years with us he touched many lives by generously giving of himself to those around him. He always had a smile for those he met. Bob demonstrated his special concern for those in need by working in his church food pantry. Dad devoted himself to helping neighbors and just being a wonderful father, grandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed by a host of family and friends. We love you Dad and will see you and Mom again someday. Visitation will be at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300 on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church, with Dr. Joel Slayton, Brother Aaron Ledford and Reverend Richard Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Alexander, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Billy Williams, Shawn Jackson, Brandon Grable, Danny Nutt, Bill Grable and Jerry McMahon.
