Robert Edward Genung

Robert Edward Genung, 85, of Greers Ferry, born May 15, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio to parents, Robert and Cecila Genung, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. He was a member of Heritage Church of God in Toledo, Ohio for many years. After moving to Arkansas, he attended Quitman First Baptist Church. He was also a WWII Veteran of the Navy. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 34 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 62 years, Joyce A. Genung. Robert is survived by his two daughters, Sharon and Dave Winters, Temperance, Michigan, and Sandra and Terry Thornton, Greers Ferry, Arkansas. Robert is also survived by four nieces and nephews that he and his late wife, Joyce, reared, Patti, Tom, Douglas, and Jodi Willhardt; four grandchildren, Heather and Todd Mefferd, Toledo, Ohio, Scott and Stefanie Merritt, Rockvale, Tennessee, Ryan and Sarah Murphy, Fort Carson, Colorado, and Nicole and Eric Johnston, Olive Branch, Mississippi; one great-grandchild, Briana Johnston, Olive Branch, Mississippi; his brothers, Don Genung of Tucson, Ariz. and Chuck Genung of Oregon; and his sister, Janet Porazinski of Florida.
