John Francis

John Wesley Francis, age 82, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012. He was born October 1st, 1930, in Coalinga, California to Benjamin and Annie Mae Francis. John was the second of seven children. He married Ms. Juanita Francis in Little Rock on June 9th, 1971. He served in the United States Navy for four years, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a current resident of Little Rock, Arkansas for 46 years. He was employed by the Arkansas State Police as a Lieutenant for 15 years. John was a member of the church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and visiting with friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Marie Francis. John will be remembered by his loving wife and their children: Ken Francis, Johnny Francis, David Francis, Sheila Moseley, Karrie Cochran. He is also survived by his brothers, Ben Francis, Ed Francis, Garland Francis; sisters, Nellie Houser, Ellen Guinn, Margie Francis; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A celebration of John's life will be held at 3 p.m., on Friday, October 5th, 2012 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock (501) 835-3515, with Pastor Ken Francis officiating. Interment will follow at Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
