Robert Carroll Perritt

Heaven gained a special angel on September 29, 2012, when Robert Carroll Perritt left this earth to use his gifts in a broader fashion. Rob had a zest for life and of adventure. He was like the Pied Piper who led all of the people he loved down a path of optimism no matter the circumstances in which they found themselves. He loved his family, and he used the life lessons that his family taught him to create new families with others to whom he was not related. Rob's good works may not be recorded in the history books, but they are written in indelible ink on the hearts of the people who were lucky enough to have known his love. He was always the first one to come running when anyone needed help, and he had a sixth sense for the broken places in people and intuitively knew how to fill the void. Rob loved each and every one of his family and friends fiercely and deeply, and it was a true love. He lived life and saw a light where others saw darkness; he loved so genuinely, and he laughed! Indeed, there was an earthly torch that was extinguished, but that torch left hundreds of kindled candles. Rob is preceded in death by his father, Bobby R. Perritt, his maternal grandparents, J.B. and Mildred Hughes, and his paternal grandparents, Pete and Agnes Perritt. He is survived by his mother, Nancy Perritt, his sister, Kathy Slocum, and his partner, Dr. Alan D. Lytle. He is loved and will be remembered by countless friends and family throughout the country. The family would like to offer their sincerest appreciation to ICU Nurse Karen Nalley, to Dr. Sarah Harrington, and to the numerous UAMS ICU medical teams who attended Rob. There will be private memorials in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Arcadia, Louisiana. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Winthrop P.
