Lela Snipes Montgomery, 90, of Cabot, born on March 23, 1922, went home to be with the Lord Jehovah on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. She was born in Roland to Viola Jane Radcliffe and Wesley Hargrove Snipes and was a member of the Assembly of God. Lela "Memaw" was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Claude Montgomery, son, Larry Montgomery, brothers, Allen, Lasker, Irl and Batson Snipes, half-brothers, Pete, Worthen, Frank and Hershel Snipes and half-sisters, Bessie and May. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Montgomery of Cabot; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Montgomery of Cabot; granddaughters, Lisa Casto (JJ) and Lynn Styers, both of Cabot; six great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Lela's daughter-in-law, Phyllis, for the love and care given to Lela. Also special thanks to Arkansas Hospice, Cassie Anderson, R.N. and social worker, Porsha Arnold, for the much needed help they provided for Memaw so she was comfortable at home. Services will be held on Friday, October 12 at 1 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), officiated by Dr. Bob Dunaway. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Visitation will precede the service at the funeral home, beginning at 12 noon. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501) 224-2200.
