Louise White Councille

Louise White Councille, formerly of Warren, died peacefully Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in hospice care. She was born in 1918 in Wilmar, Arkansas, the third child of Preston McCager and Vera Cotner White. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Perry Councille, and her siblings: Eleanor W. Blankinship, James Preston White, Elizabeth W. Towler, and Lynn W. Hunter. She is survived by her daughter, Susan C. Dill and husband, John, of Benton, her grandchildren: Brenda Fowler, husband, Dewayne, of Hot Springs; Russell Dill of Bozeman, Mont.; Mark Dill of Forsyth, Mont.; James Dill and wife, Samantha, of Danville; great-grandchildren, Brandy Milton, Skyler Fowler, and Eliza Dill; and several beloved nieces, nephews and an aunt, Marguerite Hennessey. "Miss Louise" graduated from Monticello A&M and taught in Wilmar for five and a half years Later she taught first grade in Warren for 22 years and second grade for two years. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served a term as district Vice-President of Wesleyn Service Guild. She retired at the age of sixty due to failing eyesight. She was the third person to enter the new Warren Assisted Living Home (now The Guest House), where she lived for 14 years. The family extends special thanks to the staff of The Guest House, Dr. Wharton, and mother's niece, Gail Little, for those years of relative independence and to Hospice of Central Arkansas for help while she lived with Susan and John in Benton. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 13, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Warren, with visitation following the service. Preferred memorials are First United Methodist Church, 111 W. Church Street, Warren, Arkansas; Bradley County Veterans Museum, 210 N. Main, Warren, Arkansas 71671; or Heifer International.
