Wayne Wright McElyea

Wayne Wright McElyea, 80, of Lonoke passed away October 9, 2012. He was born January 17, 1932 in Oklahoma City to the late Engva and Ida McElyea. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, E.F. McElyea, and sister Minnie Williams. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Ruth Matlock McElyea, two daughters, Sandra (Leo) Roberts of Gravel Ridge and Elaine (Mike) Anderson of Lonoke; and two sisters, Margaret Coffman of North Little Rock and Marie Eudy of Gravel Ridge. He leaves behind four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. He was a hard working member of the Lonoke farming community for 40 years. He was a gentle giant who was very loving and devoted to his family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 12 at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Lonoke.
