John Allen McKoin

John Allen McKoin was born on May 2, 1915, in Mer Rouge, La. He married his sweetheart Florence McKinney, of El Dorado, Ark., in 1936. John Allen and Florence were blessed with the gift of a son, John Allen II in 1938. During his life, John Allen worked as a HAM radio operator and also as a dispatcher on the railroad for 30 years. He loved working on cars and in his yard. For 18 years, he gave countless hours of service to the church, rarely missing a week. He loved life and always had a smile on his face. John Allen passed from this life Tuesday evening in Little Rock, Ark. He is survived by his son, John Allen McKoin II; his granddaughter, Rachel McKoin Ellis and husband Trae; great-granddaughters, Evie and Ellie Ellis, all of Little Rock; and his sister, Marie (McKoin) Williams of Bastrop, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 24th at 2 p.m., with visitation at 1:30 p.m., at Christ Lutheran Church, Little Rock Arkansas, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. 501-661-9111.
