Maxine Ashlin Motes

On October 26, 2012, Maxine Ashlin Motes left the loving embrace of her earthly family to be joyously welcomed into the loving embrace of her heavenly family. She was born March 30, 1929 to John William Ashlin and Leora Hancock Ashlin. Maxine was one of 10 children. She is survived by her three daughters; Ann Wise and husband Steve, Peggy Southard and husband Leonard, Penny Oakley and her husband Chris, six grandchildren; Tony Smith, Amber Wise, Aaron Wise, Shannon Oakley, Jennifer Rogers, and Kayla Fillinger, along with eight great-grandchildren, her sisters, Mary Larkin and Marie Cross. There are no words to express our sorrow at the loss of our mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She will be in our hearts forever, but it is also with great joy that we celebrate her release from a body that no longer allowed her to care for herself in the independent way she wanted. We would also like to express our deepest thanks to the entire staff of Woodland Hills Nursing Facility, and Odyssey Hospice they gave our mother the loving care she needed in her final years. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the funeral home.
