Jo Annette Wolff Lawrence

JO ANNETTE WOLFF LAWRENCE, who passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, was born Aug. 20, 1930, in Hugo, Okla., the second child of Jo Wilhemina Wolff and Joseph A. Wolff. After graduation from Hugo High School, she attended Stephens College, and in the fall of 1949 transferred to the University of Arkansas where she pledged Tri Delta. In September of 1950, Ann met John Lawrence, became pinned to him after five dates, and engaged to him in November of 1950. Ann married John in 1950 following his decision to serve his country in the Korean War. They resided at St. Belvior, Va., until John was deployed to Korea in December of 1951. After their first son, John Jr., was born April 21, 1952, John returned from Korea and enrolled in the University of Arkansas where he graduated from the School of Engineering. Ann and John would continue their lives in the construction business, which first took them to Conway, Ark., where they gave birth to their second son, Michael on April 7, 1955. They gave birth to their third child and only daughter in Little Rock on Jan. 27, 1958. John and Ann lived in numerous places until they settled in Maumelle in 1987. John passed away in 1997. Ann's love of animals inspired her lifetime devotion to ensuring their protection and well-being. Her favorite pastime was playing bridge with her special group of friends. Ann was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, John Lawrence and wife June of Fayetteville; her son, Mike Lawrence of Maumelle; her daughter, Shaun Anderson and husband Wayne of Helena; her six grandchildren, John Lawrence III, David Lawrence, Casey Lawrence, Jessica Ayers, Charles Roscopf and Chris Anderson; and her five great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at First United Methodist Church of Maumelle, with Reverend Luke Conway officiating.
