Shirley Jane Broach Godwin

Shirley Jane Broach Godwin, age 88, of Warren, Ark. died Friday, Oct. 26, at Legacy Heights Nursing and Rehablitation Center, Russellville, Ark. She moved to Russellville in 2010. She was born Aug. 24, 1924 in Warren, Ark. to the late Ruth Clyde Greenwood Broach and Harvey Broach. She was a retired employee of Potlatch Corp with many years of service and was a life long member of First United Methodist Church. She was a member of several Warren bridge clubs where she was joined by several life-long friends. Shirley was a member of the Bradley County Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, traveling and visiting her children and grandchildren. She also loved to shop and took several "road trips" with her many friends. She married Mitchell W. "Pete" Godwin on Aug. 26, 1944 at Warren, Ark. and he died Dec. 10, 1994. Surviving is a daughter, Jackie Godwin Taylor and spouse Danny, Russellville, Ark; a son, Mitchell "Mike" Godwin and spouse Rosemary, Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren, Gina Hobbs, Kate Horton, Amanda Jumoville and Patrick Godwin and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Councille and Perry Councille. Funeral services 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Frazer's Chapel by Rev. John Dill. Burial in Oakland Cemetery.
