Danial Aaron Smith

Danial Aaron Smith, Sr., 65, of Ward died Saturday, April 13, 2013. He was born January 18, 1948 in Osage, Iowa to the late Everett and Ardell Powers Smith. Danial was a veteran of the United States Army and Navy and served two tours in Vietnam. He worked many years as a police officer and a truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Smith and a sister, Della Lee Sunday. Survivors are his wife, Vieta Smith of Ward; his children, Danial Aaron Smith, Jr. and his wife, Tisha of Jamesville, N.C., Edward Alan Smith and his wife, Connie of Roper, N.C., Rick Smith of Ward, Lincoln Smith-Bates and his wife, Brandie of Riceville, Iowa, Bonita Smith of Beebe and Carrie Bain and her fiancé, Cameron Henderson of Beebe; 16 grandchildren, Nick Aho, Aliyah, Kaila, Jacob, Kiara, Elizabeth and Elizabeth A. Smith, Hannah, Brianna, Landon, Raylea and Brooklyn Bates, Abigail Smith, Andrew and Alexis McConaughy and Connor Henderson; two sisters, Allene "Sug" Riser of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Mary Ann Clifton of Ward; a brother, Joe Smith and his wife, Judy of Wasilla, Alaska and a sister-in-law, Audry Workman Smith. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at the funeral home.
