Verna Faye Hodkin

Verna Faye Hodkin 91 of Benton passed away on December 8, 2013. She was born on November 5, 1922 to the late, George and Bertha Melton in Alum, Arkansas. Verna was a member of Holland Chapel for over 15 years; she always loved teaching Sunday School and being active in the church. Mrs. Hodkin loved to cook, enjoyed pottery and was very proud that she was able to make a Christmas table cloth for her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Morgan L. Hodkin; son, Phillip Hodkin; grandson, David Pruden; two brothers and two sisters. Verna is survived by her daughter, Patricia Pruden (Joe); son, Morgan Ellis Hodkin (Elaine); grandchildren, Cherri Mitchell (Dwight), Jessica Overall (Matt) and Tara Hodkin; two great grandchildren, Brody and Jax Overall; six brothers; two sisters and a host of family and friends who all loved her and will miss her dearly. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant burial will follow at Ten Mile Cemetery.
