Alta Marie Shell

Alta Marie Kerr Shell, 81, of Pine Bluff, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013, at Davis Life Care. Born June 30, 1932, in Mayhew, Mississippi, she was a daughter of the late Robert Houston Kerr & Georgia Kerr Diffey. She graduated from Pine Bluff High School. She later received her LPN degree from Pines VoTech. Marie was a nurse for Jefferson Regional Medical Center and later for Trinity Village Medical Center, retiring in 1993. In August of 1951, she married Lester Shell. They shared over sixty years of life, love and marriage. She was a longtime member of Shell Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was active in her church, including teaching Sunday school. She is survived by her sons, Randy Shell, and wife, Lou Anne, Mickey Shell and wife, Joyce, and Marty Shell and Tommy Dunlap, all of Pine Bluff; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Elsie Shanks, of Warren. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013, Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son. Burial will follow in Shell Chapel Cemetery.
