Ruth La Faye Wiggins Burkes

Ruth La Faye Wiggins Burkes, age 86, of Lakewood, California passed away on January 19, 2013 at Promise Hospital in Paramount, California with her family by her side. Ruth was born in Scranton, Arkansas on September 3, 1926 to Richard and Ellen Wiggins. On November 11, 1945, she married Lewis Burkes of Dardenell, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lewis Burkes and her brother, J.C. Wiggins of Bellflower, California. She is survived by three sons; Donald (Terry) Burkes of Boise, Idaho; Larry (Susan) Burkes of Redondo Beach, California; and Mark (Murlyn) Burkes of Long Beach, California. She has two granddaughters and five great-grandchildren all of Boise, Idaho. She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Wiggins McGhee (Malachi) of Little Rock, Arkansas. A memorial service will be held at St. Cornelius Church in Long Beach, California on February 9, 2013.
