Russell G Osman

Russell G. Osman, 78, of Alexander went to be with the Lord February 13, 2013. Russ was born in Dayton, Ohio to Luther and Ethel Osman on July 21, 1934. Russ was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He was always generous, with a kind word or a good joke, and had a sweet spirit. He liked buying and selling, wheeling and dealing, always looking for a good find. Russ served in the U.S. Army for two years. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers; John S., William, Kenneth,James and Butch Osman and a great grandson; Cory Vance. Russ is survived by his wife of 54 years; Inus, four daughters; Opalea Vance, Sharon Utterback, Georgia Franklin (Marc), Erin Moran, four grandchildren; Michelle Amsler (Chris), Chris Vance (Jennifer), Alexandra Moran, Sarah Franklin, three great-grandchildren; Zachary and Leah Amsler, Derek Vance, and one sister; Kate Osman Crawford and partner Sandra Hickey. He will be sorely missed by countless friends and extended family. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 16, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. The family will have a private family burial following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Russ' name to Arkansas Children's Hospital or Veteran's Hospital in Little Rock.
