Travis Denton Henderson

Travis Denton Henderson, 71, of DeWitt died February 24, 2013 at DeWitt Hospital. He was born January 25, 1942 to Hursel Henderson and Buelah Elrod Henderson Cates. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Marilyn Henderson Neely and Molly Cates Davis. Survivors are his wife, Joyce Paxton Henderson; children: Charlie McGee (Jennifer) and Stacy Price (David) all of DeWitt; "Papaw" to Kelsea McGee and Denton McGee of DeWitt; sister, Marie Henderson Robinson (Donnie) of Malvern; two aunts: Willene Henderson Watts of DeWitt and Jean Elrod Winsett (Billy) of Como, MS; two uncles: Lolyd Elrod (Helen) of Tennessee and Eddie Elrod (Elizabeth) of Malvern; three brothers-in-law: James "Dood" Paxton (Carol), Bob Paxton (Susan) and Bill Paxton (Tina) of DeWitt; six sisters-in-law: Katherine Davidson, Betty Ward, Margie Coker (Ray), Norma Childers (Jerry), Brenda Fread (Robbie) all of DeWitt and Blanche Arthur (Tommy) of Jacksonville; many nieces, nephews and extended family. Services will he 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 28th at Essex Funeral Home Chapel, DeWitt, with burial at Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to DeWitt Hospital.
