Gladys Louise Miller, 80, of Beebe, Arkansas (formerly of North Little Rock, Arkansas), was born on January 1, 1933 in England, Arkansas. God took her hand and led her home on January 8, 2013. Now unconstrained by physical limitations, she is dancing before God's throne. Gladys worked at Timex for almost 30 years prior to her retirement in 2001. She was a hard worker and a loyal friend and would help anyone in need despite her limited resources. There is not enough space in an obituary to adequately describe what a special person she was. Gladys used to love to fish and was an avid reader before suffering a massive stroke in 2001. Though physically handicapped by the stroke, in many regards she had a much better quality of life in the years that followed. She became a resident of the Beebe Retirement Center ("BRC") in Beebe following that stroke. Her family will forever remember and be indebted to the BRC administration and staff (Gladys' adopted extended family) whom she loved dearly and who loved her equally. She is survived by her daughters, June Stracener of Rogers, Arkansas, and Lisa Gibson of Grapevine, Arkansas together with their spouses, Perry Stracener and Wayne Gibson, respectively, as well as six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Mittie Bell Bates; a brother, Marvin Bates, who died when he was 2; her beloved son, T.J. Miller; and grandson, Joseph Miller. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 11, at the North Little Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170, with funeral services at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, also at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lonoke. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
