Mae Francis (Eckwood) Pumphery

MAE FRANCIS (ECKWOOD) PUMPHERY passed away on Jan. 4, 2013, in Little Rock, Ark. at the age of 78 after a long illness. Previously a longtime resident of Michigan City, Ind., she was born July 16, 1934, to George and Elnora Eckwood in Cotton Plant, Ark. Mae confessed hope in Christ and was baptized at a young age at the New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cotton Plant, Ark. She married the love of her life Amos Pumphery on August 16, 1950 in Cotton Plant, Ark. She is survived by her husband, Amos Pumphery; one daughter, Anita (Alex) Smith of Minneapolis, Minn.; two grand-children, Octava Smith of Little Rock, Ark. and Robert (April) Smith of Bloomington, Minn.; one brother, Pastor William (Delores) Eckwood; three sisters, Dorothy Turner, Bobbie Jean Hudson and Eloyce Johnson all of Little Rock, Ark. Preceded in death: four brothers and two sisters. Family hour held at Premier Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, from 5–6 p.m. Funeral service will be on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. New Rock of Ages MBC located at 9712 Chicot RD in Southwest Little Rock.
