Geno Mazzanti Jr.

Geno Mazzanti Jr., age 84, of Lake Village, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Washington Care Center in Greenville, Mississippi. He was born April 1, 1929, in Lake Village, the son of the late Geno Mazzanti Sr. and Franchina Carnevaletti Mazzanti. He was a retired farmer and a past state representative for south Arkansas for 12 years and a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, a son, Vince, three brothers, Joe Mazzanti, Vincent Mazzanti and John Mazzanti and by 3 sisters, Catherine and Pantilena Mazzanti and Rose Mazzanti Morara. Survivors are two daughters, Gina Mazzanti of Lake Village and Regina Mazzanti of Little Rock; three brothers, Francis Mazzanti, Tony Mazzanti and Jerry Mazzanti, all of Lake Village; one sister, Lena Mazzanti Boyd of Fayetteville; and 5 grandchildren, Emma Leuke-Said, Bailey Byrd, Zachery Leuke-Said, Alexandra Byrd and Alexis Leuke-Said. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, with Rosary following at 6 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Village with Father Theopolus Okpara as Celebrant. Arrangements are by Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
